T he vicious pre-planned slaughter of the Sikh people in 1984 following Indira Gandhi's assassination did not just leave every Sikh traumatised. It also deeply affected their psyche, their faith in their neighbours, in the system, in the state, in the very idea of justice itself. "During the enquiry, which was conducted on the orders of Chief Minister Mayawati, it was found that 399 people, who were either ineligible or even dead were getting old age pension," Chief Development Officer J B Singh said. He said that the order to cancel pension of the ineligible candidates was issued yesterday.
